Outer Banks Media Launches New Website and Online Store for Interior Designer

Theo tin Floor & Decor hay

Local Outer Banks retail shop Modern Beach House builds new website to showcase design work and provide a retail outlet for home design aficionados. Designer Nicole Peters takes a new approach on the dated, older beach decor that exists in many Outer Banks vacation homes, and helps homeowners create a fresh, clean, and modern look with products and artwork from all over the world.

Outer Banks Media (OBX Media), a North Carolina-based digital marketing agency specializing in website design, search engine optimization and internet marketing, announces the website launch of Modern Beach House. Interior Designer and storeowner, Nicole Peters, is known for creating clean and simplistic interior designs with mid-century modern elements. Her signature style is a fresh and modern approach to the typical coastal designs found in most residential and vacation homes on the Outer Banks of North Carolina.

OBX Media’s marketing team was presented with the task of making the Modern Beach website an extension of Nicole’s design style while also including an online shop to sell modern beach home décor. Nicole’s personal style combines clean backgrounds with pops of color and texture. OBX Media’s design team created a simplistic design to showcase her work and let her portfolio speak for itself. A black and white color scheme and modern typography combined with the minimalist design, highlights the local designer’s eye-catching photography of her portfolio of interior designs.

The online store was created in the WordPress platform with shopping cart and inventory management integration. The online store is organized by categories to help users easily browse through the inventory. A key feature to the design was to make the site responsive and seamlessly exist across all devices including desktop, mobile and tablet. The site was then optimized with SEO (search engine optimization) strategies to help Modern Beach House rank well in the major search engines.

“Both Nicole’s store and her interior design work have an incredibly tight and well-executed aesthetic, so it was important for us to accurately convey her style throughout the site design,” said Brooke Foreman Scarborough, Creative Director of OBX Media. “While the site is modern and monochromatic, it’s still warm and approachable, which is exactly the feeling we want potential clients and customers to have when they land on the site.”

The final outcome was a website that reflects Nicole’s aesthetic, while highlighting her creativity for curating unique one of a kind décor. The e-commerce store will open up new opportunities for Modern Beach House to reach customers outside of the Outer Banks while growing the brand.
“I was looking to update my website and make it look more professional. OBX Media made this happen and has been such an amazing team to work with! They made the process super easy and I can’t say thank you enough,” said owner of Modern Beach House, Nicole Peters.

Seven Days, Two Countries, Dozens of Fashion and Lifestyle Products

Back from a 7-day, two-country buying trip this past December, and high into the mountains of Peru through to the mud-lane villages buried under canopies of trees deep inside Honduras, Jamie Lauren, the indefatigable designer, and artistic genius behind extraordinary one-of-a-kind products that repurpose the vibrant hand-made fabrics that can only be found in these far-away places, will be showcasing her company’s Spring line of handbags, furniture accessories and lifestyle products.

“Our products are truly one of a kind creations,” says Jamie Lauren, who started Jamie Lauren Designs ( three years ago, and since then, has rocketed to industry recognition with her products being featured in Architectural Digest, Boulder and Cherry Creek Lifestyle Magazines, and other fashion and furniture industry media.

“Our fun, vibrant and colorful bags are street-stoppers and our pillows and ottomans add a unique pop of color and cozy comfort to any den, bedroom or living room,” says Lauren. Lauren’s products are carried in 11 states, such as California, Colorado, Florida, Maine, NY, and North Carolina, among others, by retailers such as Cabana Home, Voss, The Little Nell, Perez Art Museum, BD Jeffries, Jayson Home, Snug Harbor, ABC Home/NYC, and others. “For the past two years, the show has been tremendously successful for the company,” says Lauren, “this is our third year attending, and we are proud to have a fantastic corner location in this highly-specialized global market section of the show.”

Beautiful Hand Stitching and Embroidery, Patented Leather Hand Bag Straps, Time-Honored Techniques

This gorgeous design feature is not only comfortable, but adds a high-quality dimension to both the look and feel of the bag, whether filled to the brim, or just toting a wallet and cell phone. Great for around town, to the beach, the market, or a picnic, these bags can be dressed up, or down – sundress and shorts to slinky skirt. Says Lauren, “The versatility of these bags is what makes them so popular.”
The fabrics and leather used across product lines marry fashion-forward design with practical form and function, whether in a bag, ottoman, pillow, clutch or shoulder purse.
These fabrics are made in centuries old traditions. Whether it’s a Frazada from Peru made from dyed sheep’s wool, using techniques passed down through generations, or a Kantha, a quilt, made in India from soft luxurious quilts utilizing an embroidery technique originating from Bangleesh, or the Hmong art and embroidery technique from Thailand that features vivid designs and contrasting colors, or the use of Indigo and Mudcloth, a laborious process that can take up to a week to be crafted in Africa — all Jamie Lauren product designs use a stunning array of these earthy products to produce a versatile line of spectacular must-have lifestyle goods.

Brown Gibbons Lang: Accessorizing through Acquisitions in Home Décor

Theo tin Brown Gibbons Lang & Company hay

CLEVELAND, Jan. 31, 2018 /PRNewswire/ — Rising consumer confidence and disposable personal income are driving a release of pent-up demand in the home furnishings and décor sectors, according to the Consumer Products & Retail Insider, an industry report released by Brown Gibbons Lang & Company. Investor appetite has increased in line with favorable demand trends which is spurring investment activity.

The BGL report, now available online, examines developing trends in the Home Environment industry.

Positive trends in the housing market coupled with changing demographics, notably the growing number of millennial first-time home buyers and downsizing empty nesters, establish the foundation for a thriving market in home fashion.
Retailers of home furnishings and décor are reporting strong growth and investing in brick-and-mortar and digital assets in anticipation of growing demand. eCommerce is seeing double-digit growth as technology, convenience, and product assortment drive more online purchases in the category.
The fragmented home décor market has seen robust M&A activity as market participants pursue product line and channel expansion to tap new shoppers and grow online sales. The Home Depot (The Company Store), Masco Corporation (Kichler Lighting), and Newell Brands (Chesapeake Bay Candle) are among the large home goods companies shopping for acquisitions, each announcing deals during the last six months. Private equity funds are investing in this growing niche, illustrated by recent platform buys in home décor (Sycamore Partners/NBG Home), lighting (CID Capital/Grandview Gallery and AEA Investors/Visual Comfort), and home fragrance (NEST Fragrances/Eurazeo).

We expect the M&A market in home furnishings and décor will continue to be active as companies seek access to innovative products, new markets, and eCommerce-driven business models to accelerate growth.
